The OldPal Full Support Dog Wheelchair holds your dog up at both ends, for dogs whose front legs have grown weak as well as their back legs. It is our rear support wheelchair with front wheels fitted, so your dog is steadied on all four sides and can keep walking, sniffing and exploring on their own terms.
Support at the front and the back. The front and rear wheels share your dog's weight, so a dog who tires, wobbles or stumbles at the front still has something to lean on. It is made for dogs with weakness in all four legs, whether that comes from age, an injury they are recovering from, or a condition that has progressed past the back legs.
Built around comfort. The padded harness carries your dog's weight through the chest and hips rather than the spine, and every strap adjusts so the chair fits your dog's shape. Your dog can squat and go to the bathroom while in the chair.
Light, durable frame. A lightweight aluminium frame on all-terrain wheels, sturdy enough to carry your dog and easy to steer around the house, the backyard and the park.
Sizes for every dog. Five frame sizes, each with two height ranges, cover rear leg heights from 3 to 31 inches:
- Mini: 3 to 6 inches
- Small: 6 to 12 inches
- Medium: 12 to 19 inches
- Large: 19 to 24 inches
- XL: 24 to 31 inches
To measure, lay your dog on their side and measure from the top of the hip straight down to the toe pad, letting the leg rest at its natural bend.

Care. Wipe the frame with a damp cloth and hand wash the harness in mild soap.

Can my dog use the bathroom in the wheelchair?
Yes, and for a lot of dogs it gets easier. The harness holds the back end up without closing anything off, so your dog can squat and relieve themselves while they are in the chair.
Dogs who spend most of the day lying down tend to go less often. Being upright and walking again usually helps things work the way they should.
How long does shipping take?
Mini, Small and Medium chairs arrive within 1 to 2 weeks from the day you order. Large and XL chairs arrive within 2 to 3 weeks.

How do I measure my dog for a wheelchair?

Is a wheelchair comfortable for my dog?
Yes. The padded harness carries your dog's weight through the hips and chest rather than the spine, and every strap adjusts, so the chair can be set to your dog's shape rather than the other way round.
The frame height is set so the rear legs hang free or brush the ground lightly. Dogs with hind leg weakness, arthritis or degenerative myelopathy can then walk on their front legs without dragging or carrying weight through the back end.

How do I clean a dog wheelchair?
Wipe the aluminum frame down with a damp cloth after muddy or sandy walks, and check the wheels for grit while you are there.
Hand wash the harness in mild soap and warm water, then air dry it fully before the next use. A damp harness is what causes rubbing, not the chair itself.
How long will it take for my dog to adjust to using a wheelchair?
Most dogs take to a wheelchair within a few short sessions, and plenty are walking on their own in the first day or two. Senior dogs are no slower at it than young ones.
Start indoors on a flat, non slip floor, keep the first sessions to five or ten minutes, and reward every attempt. Once your dog works out that the wheels follow them, most of the hesitation goes.
